Senior Director of High Performance and Player Development
Ryan has been coaching for over 20 years. In that time he has worked for over a decade with only high performance players, consistently developing them into top 20 national players and beyond. His players have won Gold and Silver balls, numerous USTA national titles and are competing in ITF and Pro Circuit events. He has been successfully sending players on to flourishing college careers as well.
Ryan has traveled the country for over ten years guiding and mentoring players through the demanding, yet rewarding path of competitive junior tennis. He strongly believes that it is his abilities to build relationships that have allowed him to develop the players that he has been privileged enough to work with.
Ryan believes in building all court tennis players who posses well rounded skills- possessing self awareness and adaptive skills and who concentrate at extremely high levels. Ryan feels that players need to deserve success through hard work, commitment, problem solving and struggle.
Difficult periods in training and in matches are where greatness is discovered, cultivated and refined.
"Nothing great was ever accomplished without setbacks and obstacles. It is these moments in which we develop our resolve and determination. It is in these situations that we are defined as a competitor."
Ryan is married and has two daughters; his oldest Ellyse (16) is one of the top players in the country. Grace (3) is a champion in the making. Ryan having children who love tennis and compete at the highest levels of the game gives him unusual insight into what parents experience along their child's developmental pathway. Having been on this same journey as both parent and coach allows Ryan to assist in the most empathetic and professional ways to guide families and players towards their goals.
